This page is going to have a list of accessible sewing and crafting businesses. “Accessible” will cover the physical shops, websites, and also business owners who go out of their way to make our community feel welcome.

Physical business

  • Ramp, or step-free access

  • Wide doors and wide, uncluttered aisles

  • Shelving at a reachable height from a wheelchair

  • A lift, if there are multiple floors

  • Conscientious staff who provide assistance when asked

  • Allows assistance dogs

  • Places to sit down

Online business

  • Easily readable font that is consistent throughout the site

  • Colourblind-friendly colour palette

  • Clear, descriptive menus, pages, and sections

  • Descriptive alt text on images

  • Clear route from browsing, to choosing, to purchase

  • Site doesn’t jump around, no unnecessary animations
